Chief of Staff (to CEO)

About the Role
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and act as a force-multiplier across the organization. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role for someone who can operate as an extension of the CEO — driving strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional execution, and ensuring the founder's time and attention are focused on what matters most. You will effectively act as a "shadow" to the CEO — representing their priorities in meetings, following through on commitments made on their behalf, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks across the business. This role is ideal for someone from a fintech background who understands regulatory nuance, unit economics, and the pace of a scaling financial services business.
Key Responsibilities
- •Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO on strategic, operational, and organizational priorities
- •Represent the CEO in internal meetings, follow up on action items, and ensure timely closure on decisions made
- •Drive execution of top company priorities (OKRs/KPIs) across functions — Product, Engineering, Growth, Risk/Compliance, Finance
- •Prepare board decks, investor updates, leadership offsites, and strategic reviews
- •Build dashboards and reports to track business metrics, using Excel/BI tools; pull data directly from engineering/product teams (GitHub, internal repos) when needed
- •Own special projects end-to-end — from fundraising support material to new product launches to org-design initiatives
- •Act as a bridge between CEO and leadership team — translating strategic intent into functional execution plans
- •Manage CEO's key priorities, cadence, and follow-ups; ensure high-leverage use of CEO's time
- •Bring structure to ambiguous, 0-to-1 problems — market entry, partnerships, competitive analysis
- •Liaise with Legal/Compliance/Risk on regulatory matters typical to fintech (RBI guidelines, NBFC/payment aggregator compliance, audits, etc. — adjust to geography)
Requirements
- •8-10 years of experience, with a mix of strategy/consulting, analytics, or operating roles
- •Engineering degree + MBA
- •Strong analytical and data skills — advanced Excel, comfort with SQL/BI tools a plus
- •Working knowledge of GitHub/technical workflows — able to converse fluently with engineering teams and understand product/tech roadmaps
- •Prior fintech industry exposure (lending, payments, banking-as-a-service, etc.) strongly preferred
- •Prior experience in a founder's office, Chief of Staff, strategy, or venture-backed startup environment
- •Exceptional communication skills — able to write crisp memos, board-ready decks, and represent the CEO's voice accurately
- •High ownership, discretion, and judgment — comfortable handling confidential/sensitive information
- •Ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- •Strong stakeholder management — able to influence without direct authority across senior leadership
